What is Jazz?
Many of us who think of ourselves as afficianados would be hard pressed to answer this question. Jazz is so simple yet complex, so raw and yet so refined. As stated in the above context. Jazz can rarely be described. For most who apreciate this genre, it is something that one feels. It is unspoken words, uncontrolled thoughts, it is something that comes from within, it reaches the inner most parts.
When you watch and artist who is playing an instrument, such as the bass or the drums and you watch his/her expressions as they perform, if they are real about their craft you too will feel what is coming from their soul. That’s what Jazz is.
